AIM INAUGURAL SPEECH (delivered to first assembly on 23.07.2005)

Dear brethren,

With deep appreciation and thanksgiving to God, I welcome you all to this inaugural meeting to formally launch Association of International Ministers worldwide (AIM).

God laid the establishment of this body into my mind once as I was meditating over the increasing weakness of the Church worldwide. God clearly revealed to me that the weakness of the Church is not as a result of Satan getting stronger, but only a reflection of believers getting weaker by living a life of disunity forgetting that only together can we form a vibrant and strong body of Christ.

Matt 15:8-9 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

The Church of Christ continues to separate itself from the Lord by choosing to disintegrate itself to disunited denominations that see personal denomination as the one and only perfect Church. The worship of most believers has become an empty lip service to God. The proof is everywhere.

1) People are directing worships and attention to personalities. People compare themselves to others and their pastors to another pastor losing focus of the main focus of all worship, God. Because of this, there existed division within congregations as well as within inter-congregations. God is not a denominationalist or a racist but the God of every diverse family member of the body of Christ.

2) People are building their own kingdoms. The focus on denominational differences has led to emergence of self-consciousness as against God consciousness. Most websites are littered with pictures of leaders glorifying themselves and achievement as against God. Self – conscious and self-serving leaders refuse to co-operate with other leaders, choosing to reign in their exclusive corners. The more established such churches, the more they see no need to co-operate or participate with other churches in spreading the gospel of Christ.

3) People are depending on personal might and power rather than the power of Holy Spirit. Because most Church leaders are busy building self-kingdoms, they end up using their power and wisdom rather than depending on God’s power of Holy Spirit.

The staggering result of that situation is the seemingly growth in the strength of the enemy in its onslaught against a disunited Church. We need to stop the weakening onslaught of disunity among the body of Christ. The leaders of Christ’s body needs to co-operate to work against our common enemy in order to bring glory to the all-powerful God that we all serve.

Prov 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

AIM has come to keep us united, equipped and empowered in the battle against forces of darkness. A house that divides against itself shall fall. Together we stand, divided we fall!

Together we can do great exploit for the Kingdom of God.
